Disclaimer
Best Therapy Productivity Calculator provides calculators and guides to help clinicians plan their workday and understand productivity math. Please read how they should and shouldn’t be used.
Planning tools, not professional advice
Our calculators and guides are for education and personal planning. They are not:
- Legal or employment advice. Break, overtime and wage rules depend on your state and employer. Contact your HR department, your state labor office or an employment attorney about your situation.
- Billing or coding advice. Medicare and other payer rules change and vary. Follow your payer’s current guidance, your facility’s compliance team and official CMS publications.
- Medical advice. Nothing on this site tells you how to treat a patient. Clinical decisions belong to licensed clinicians using their clinical judgment.
Your employer’s rules come first
Productivity targets, what counts as billable time, and how breaks are paid are set by your employer, within the law. Our results use your inputs and our published formulas. They can’t account for every facility’s policy.
Benchmarks are reference points
Where we show benchmark data (for example, from ASHA’s health care surveys), it describes what survey respondents reported. It isn’t a standard you’re required to meet, or a fair target for every caseload.
Accuracy and changes
We check every formula and source, and we update pages when rules change. Even so, errors can happen, and regulations can change after a page is updated. If accuracy matters for a decision about pay, billing or compliance, verify it with an official source. Found an error? Tell us.
Don’t enter patient information
Never enter patient names or other protected health information into any calculator or form on this site.
