Editorial and Clinical Review Policy
Every page on this site follows the same process. That way you can trust the math, the sources and the people behind them.

1. Who writes our content
Pages are written and maintained by the Best Therapy Productivity Calculator team. Guest contributors are licensed clinicians or people with direct experience in therapy operations, and their names appear on the pages they write.
2. Clinical review
We plan to add a licensed PT, OT or SLP as a clinical reviewer. Until then, pages don’t show a “clinically reviewed” label, and we hold every page to these checks:
- Formulas and worked examples are recalculated by hand
- Every rule and statistic is checked against the cited source (CMS, U.S. Department of Labor, ASHA, APTA, AOTA, or peer-reviewed research)
- Nothing is written as medical, legal or billing advice
When a reviewer joins, their name and credential will appear on each page they review, with the date of review.
3. Sources we use
We rely on primary and professional sources, in this order:
| Priority | Source type | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Government and regulators | CMS (Medicare), U.S. Department of Labor, state labor departments |
| 2 | Professional associations | ASHA, APTA, AOTA |
| 3 | Peer-reviewed research | Journal articles and published surveys |
| 4 | Reputable industry sources | Only when no primary source exists, and labeled as such |
Every statistic links to its source. If we can’t find reliable data, we say so instead of estimating.
4. How we check calculators
- Every formula is documented on our methodology page
- Each worked example is recalculated by hand before publishing
- Rounding rules are stated on each page
5. Updates and corrections
- We review key pages at least every 6 months, and sooner when CMS, labor rules or survey data change.
- The “last updated” date changes only when the content changes.
- Found a mistake? Use our contact page. Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the page.
6. Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help research or draft. Every page is checked by a person for accuracy, and every clinical or regulatory statement is verified against the cited source before publishing. A named human author is responsible for each page.
7. Independence
We don’t accept payment for coverage.
8. What our content is not
Our calculators and guides are planning tools and education. They’re not legal, billing, employment or medical advice. See the full disclaimer.
